Kingboard (Hebei) Cokechem Co., Ltd. / Kingboard (Hebei) Chemical Co., Ltd. is the wholly owned subsidiary of Kingboard Chemical Holdings Limited. It is located at No. 1, Kingboard Road, Dameng Town, Neiyou County, Xingtai City, Hebei Province. Phase I occupies an area of 620 acres, with total investment amounted to around 750 million renminbi. The annual capacity is expected to be 1 million tonnes for hard coke and 100,000 tonnes for methanol. The technique used in the production of methanol from coke boiler with gas was pioneered by the company.
Coke boiler No. 1 and No. 2 started production on November 1, 2004, and February 4, 2005 respectively. The 20 million renminbi project of coal washing plant started production in April 2005, which should have an annual capacity of 1.5 million tonnes. The methanol project is expected to begin production in July 2005.
